THE SPORT FISHING

This sport has been, during six decades approximately, a tourist optional attraction in our region, practiced by all without limit in entertainment. The largest fish that has been captured is a blue marlin with 192 kilograms 1995.

The sports fishing is practiced easily whether deep sea or minor fishing where you can find fishes like marlin, sail fish, folden and tuna in abundance, wahoo, pargo, bass, furel, rooster and cook. In Costalegre important fishing are organized. "Barra de Navidad" in championships, is official headquarters, some of them are the following ones:


* International fishing championship of sail fish marlin and golden, which takes place on the third week of january.
* International Marlin, tournamnet event that takes place at the end of May of june and beginning commomemorte the navy day.
* International tournament tilt of the sail fish, with line and equipment of 20 pounds on the first week of November.

Costalegre's beaches turn out to be suitable for the practice of all kinds of aquatic sports and sports fishing. When this sport is practice the principal objective is the sail fish catch.

OBJECTIVE:

The principal aim of this sport is that the tourist has an interaction by direct an healthy way, with natural environment, and create a friendship environment among the participants.

EQUIPMENT:

* Support with 3 to 5 fishing poles with a weight of 40, 60, 80, 120 pounds
* Motor Boat
* Sardine (bait)
* Compass
* VHF Radio
* Fire Extinguisher
* First aid kit
* Life saver
* Snack and drinks

ACTIVITY DEVELOPMENT

FIRST:

Give the fishing rules to participants it's necessary to consider approximately 20 to 30 miles towards the south, it is the adequate location for these fishes.

SECOND:

Every participant will have to organize his equipment before the beginning of the tournament there will be some tolerance time.

As a safety measure for those participating, there will be continuos radio communication with each and every one of them, at the end of the designated time each participant must go back to port, whatever his result may be, making clear that, if the participant doesn't arrive at the right time, he (she) will be automatically disqualified.

Once the participants are together, the hudges will take care of measuring each one of the fishes, both in size as well as in weight, so that they subsequently will make the final results known to the participants and to the public.

They wil then to a head with handing over prizes for the first three winners.
